A California children's author has launched a new book which tells the story of St. Paul's Chapel, with a special focus on the events and aftermath of Sept. 11.
"The Little Chapel That Stood," by A.B. Curtiss, illustrated by Mirto Golino, goes on sale at St. Paul's on Wednesday July 16, when Ms. Curtiss will be signing books at the chapel.
"To write a children’s book about... 9-1l is a very tricky thing," writes Ms. Curtiss. "We want to shield children from undue violence and fear but, at the same time, we don’t want to shield them from the ideals of courage, freedom, and heroism. We want to protect them, but we also want them to grow up brave and strong."
The message of her book, she adds, is that "no one is too small to be brave, too small to make a difference."
