St. Paul’s to Present ‘Marrying Mozart’

St. Paul’s Chapel will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with a special look back in history.

When the chapel was consecrated in 1766, Mozart was just 10 years old. What was childhood like for Mozart – where was he traveling and what was he composing when the bells first tolled at St. Paul’s?

These mysteries will be addressed in Listening to the Mastermind of a 10-Year-Old Mozart at St. Paul’s on Tuesday, March 21 at 1 pm. Inspired by Stephanie Cowell’s novel Marrying Mozart, Mastermind of a 10-Year-Old tells the story of Mozart as a young boy, and is interspersed with musical selections performed by Robert Ridgell, Trinity’s assistant organist, and members of The Trinity Choir.

The birthday celebration will continue at Trinity Church on Sunday, April 2 at 3 pm, when The Trinity Choir will present Robert D. Levin’s completion of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor. Full details are available on the parish calendar.
