Trinity Church and St. Paul’s Chapel will this year commemorate the 9/11 attacks with events including an overnight vigil, a Taizé service, and a debut concert featuring a new organ replacing the pipe organ damaged by smoke and dust on September 11, 2001.

Trinity's pipe organ was damaged after dust and smoke from the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings coated it inside and out. Before the collapse, the organ was being used during an impromptu service to soothe frightened people coming off the streets. The performance is generously underwritten by WQXR.
